Ep65: FEMININE RISING | Tahya, Hathor and the Ceremonial Systrum

For the 4th and final installment of the FEMININE RISING series, I welcome Tahya: dancer, drummer, teacher, and creator/designer of the Ceremonial Systrum; a modern version of an ancient percussion instrument used in ancient Egyptian temple processions honoring the goddess.

Join us as we discuss her journey in connecting with Hathor (ancient Egyptian goddess of joy, fertility and beauty amongst other things), her journey in recreating the sistrum, and embodying the divine feminine through movement, sound, art and adornment.

Tahya is an award-winning dancer with over 40 years of experience researching, studying, teaching and performing multi-cultural drumming, dance and poetry. She is a member of the elite Lehigh Valley Independent Colleges Dance Consortium and an ACE-certified instructor for over twenty years. Tahya’s pursuit of life-long passions are fully supported by heart whisperings & soul guidance inviting the exploration of global best practices within multi-cultural sacred and secular dance and drumming traditions.
